I was very interested to read this article from Michael Wolff, and it's intriguing to see what experts in the field are saying about the state of the advertising industry.
We are now in a society that watches TV on demand (without adverts) and either Ad Blocks or ignores the adverts that run on websites.
With the general public (and members of your customer base) becoming less receptive to ads and realistically doing everything they can to get out of viewing your ads, maybe the time has come to stop spending money on creating content that irritates people.
Think about it, when was the last time you skipped through the adverts on TV, or closed the Ads that came up on a website, flicked through the Ads in your newspaper or magazine.
This means that the money you are spending in order to attempt to appeal to new customers is, in fact, pushing them away. That money could be spent in a far more productive way.
Instead of bombarding prospective customers with annoyances, give them something they want to receive. Promotional merchandise doesn't have to cost the world and it provides physical items that clients are grateful for!
